Doug graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987, with a dual degree in Economics and Psychology and began his career in banking in Morristown, N.J. Soon after, he moved to Baltimore and started a position in the door industry in 1989, and has been in that field for 34 years.
In October 1991, he began working for the founder of Bunting Door Hardware. While at Bunting, he handled everything from estimating, project management, and detailing and then moved into the day-to-day management, as well as working on strategic initiatives—including technology and overall personnel organization of the company. In 2003, he obtained his MBA from Loyola University of Maryland, with a concentration in Finance. In 2007, when the founder retired, he bought the company.
Doug sits on the board for Building Congress & Exchange (BC&E), a non-political organization dedicated to promoting and strengthening all aspects of the construction industry in the Metropolitan Baltimore area. He is also a Vistage CEO member and values his peer group discussions and learning when addressing company challenges and goals.
